![]() | Mark Spicak As a youngster, I recall being fascinated by animals on farms, in livestock shoes, parades, zoos; wherever I saw them. I could not wait to get home to draw them. But paper and pencil just was not enough. I realized that working with color was my calling. In 1970, I began teaching myself to paint with oils. My first sale was for $20 at the Public Library in Alice, TX. In 1975 my work began showing at the Keese Southwest Gallery in Kerrville, TX. After eleven years with JCPenney in Dallas, TX, I realized that painting made me happiest. In 1991, I moved to Palm Springs to become a full-time painter. My work flourished. I had the perfect subject: the desert! To view the works of Mark Spicak, click here |
