ART CARE

Your art will remain in perfect condition by following a few, simple, steps regarding framing and maintenance when collecting. Framing is the key to protecting all art created on paper. Watercolors, oil pastels, graphite, lithographs, serigraphs, etc. must be framed with archival, museum mounts and UVA plexi glass. Adagio Galleries uses only archival framing. Our staff works with you to select the perfect framing to compliment your art. Adagio Galleries has a complete framing area with many options of frames, mats, liners and fillets from the finest manufacturers for your convenience. Once your art is home and hanging there are basic care requirements to care for your piece. Only use acrylic cleaner on the plexi glass. It should be applied with a cotton cloth and rubbed in a circular motion until clean. This is only necessary to do every 6 months. Otherwise, use a feather duster. Furniture polish should never be used on framing. Oils and acrylics on canvas require feather dusting only. You may use computer canister air spray to remove any build-up of dust from canvases, as well. Canister air spray is also recommended for removing dust from gourd art and bronzes.
